Go Gaga...Over MAC Pink Lemonade Lipglass [REVIEW]

I am swooning over here--it's love!

No, wait...it's actually MAC Lipglass in Pink Lemonade ($15.00 at maccosmetics.com).

Here are just some of the reasons why I love Pink Lemonade:

Why I Love Pink Lemonade (A Super Short Essay):
1. It's such a pretty, opaque pink!  Drenches my lips in color.
2. It lingers for a long while--no need for constant touch-ups...
3. Pink Lemonade really jives well if you're pale, and well, I'm definitely in that category.
4. My lips look really plump and juicy with a swipe of Pink Lemonade, so of course I'm in love...

I made the initial purchase a month ago (came highly recommended), and I've been using it like mad ever since, even more than my Viva Glam Nicki Lipglass.

Application

Trust me, I've heard the complaints about MAC Lipglass before--oh, it's so sticky, it feels like tar on your lips, etc.

But I don't mind the texture at all.  Pink Lemonade definitely veers into tacky territory, but this seems to enhance its lasting power on the lips (with or without lipstick).

Have I fallen suddenly into a DISCO BALL?  Christmas lights really makes everything look super glam.

The doe foot applicator picks up an average amount product, one swipe delivering nearly opaque, glistening color that's very flamingo pink (as MAC describes it).  The tackiness is a challenge to get used to, but otherwise I love how moisturizing it feels.  No dry pucker here. :)

Left: Bare lips.  Middle: MAC Lipglass in Pink Lemonade applied. Right: Pink Lemonade layered over MAC Lipstick in Creme Cup.

Because this lipglass is very opaque, you won't need to layer it with lipstick, although it definitely helps create that voluminous, juicy lip effect if you do.  I always layer this over MAC Lipstick in Creme Cup, my favorite baby pink lip color.

Wear

If you don't like constantly reapplying your lip gloss, you're in good luck here: During a normal day, Pink Lemonade lasts at least 2 hours on my lips.  Of course it won't stay put if you're eating like a starved concentration victim, but reapplication is a snap.

This lip gloss veers on the moisturizing side, so you won't have to worry about chapstick-izing your lips throughout the day--the lip gloss does the job for you.

Look!  Look at my lips dammit!

Would I Repurchase?

Abso-freaking-lutely!  It's pretty, it's pink, it's moisturizing--what more can a gal ask for (aside from all you can eat sushi)?  Pink Lemonade helps me achieve those perfect baby pink lips, and it's not expensive like Chanel or YSL either.

Speaking of, I'm dying to get YSL lipstick...

A Little Cat Action

I've been on a quest to create a do-it-yourself ring light so I can have better lighting during my photo and video shoots.  It creates that really pretty, glowy glamour effect, and the natural lighting in my apartment is usually not good enough (you need bacon loads of lighting when using a DSLR).

So, I'm currently making one with a string of leftover Christmas lights but ruh roh, I don't have anything circular to wrap it around.  So I scrunched the lights together in frustration, threw it on the ground, and then suddenly my kitty Yngwie sprang into action.  Apparently now it's a kitty toy!

He likes to pat it, and look at it curiously, but that's about as far as he ventures--I don't think he understands what this glowing ball of stuff is.

Anyways, I'm off to get something circular this weekend (probably at Michaels) and I'll post a tutorial of how I did it :)

XOXO,

Minsooky
