My Favorite Whitening Face Mask! MISSHA Secret Recipe Brightening Rice Mask [REVIEW]

No fibbing here, this is my favorite whitening face mask, courtesy of MISSHA.  It's called MISSHA Secret Recipe Brightening Rice Mask, and if you can get your hands on it (it's constantly sold out).

Here are the juicy deets:

This special nourishing mask contains 5 natural ingredients for fresh, healthy skin. The wash-off type mask contains 15% vitamin-rich Rice Water for clearer and brighter complexion. The Rice Water scented cream is a smooth, milky-white formula.

Luckily, this mask is free of iffy ingredients such as hydroquinone and arbutin, but for those concerned about parabens, I wouldn't hold your breath--it does contain methylparaben and propylparaben, used as preservatives.

Still, if you're willing to overlook this (I am), this is a mighty nice whitening face mask with a sweeter price tag: $8.00 per bottle.

Each bottle will last you several sessions, by the way.

Here is the face mask in action.  See the difference before and after?

How This Face Mask Works

MISSHA Secret Recipe Brightening Face Mask is a wash off face mask, but it doesn't quite harden like your standard clay mask--instead it sort of dries out, but still feels smooth to the touch while it's in action.

You'll spread ample-sized globs of this white concoction all over your face, and the smell is truly divine...like roasted rice.

Left: Before shot.  Right: After shot; skin looks better!
After allowing to dry for 15-20 minutes, it's time to wash off--comes off quite easily.  The end result: Soft, somewhat lighter skin, and my skin looks noticeably more even.

It's also a great sweat zapper, if you deal with that often.

I know what some people might ask...does it hurt?  Do the effects really last?  Well no to the first question; it feels a bit cool on the skin, but otherwise there's nothing painful or even irritating about it.  It's great for sensitive skin, and my skin is pretty sensitive.

As for the second question, it's temporary, but lasts longer than your average face mask.  With this face mask my skin looks soft, even, and bright for a good 2-3 days.  That certainly beats my experience with the My Beauty Diary face masks.

In Other Less Than Exciting News...

My posting is still a bit intermittent, but there's good reason why: I'm moving!

Oh, and I'm pretty busy with work, but the moving part is more important. :)

In a month I'll be moving out of the Twin Cities (boo, hiss) to a more rural part of Minnesota, about 30 miles north of St. Paul.  I'm no stranger to rural living--I grew up in a rural town in Minnesota--but I'm definitely not happy about it.

On the plus side though, I'll get to move into a bigger apartment with a huge kitchen!  Oh, and for some odd reason, this rural town is right by a ton of high-end stores, such as COACH, Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, etc.  Not a single fancy restaurant in sight, though...the foodie in me is a bit sad, but I'll deal.  I guess I'll trade food for some nice clothes and bags!

Finally, I can stop taking pictures in my car.  Urrgghh.

Hope you all are doing well!
XOXO,

Minsooky
