My Birthday Makeup + Skincare Haul!

So last week, unfortunately, was my birthday.  I turned the big 27.

But in celebration of my birthday, I did get a nice assortment of gifts from my friends and family, which I want to share with you today :)

MARIO BADESCU SKINCARE: I managed to run out of my Lancome toner and Missha moisturizing cream at the same time, so my husband got me some Mario Badescu as a present.  Included is its anti-aging serum, all-over face cream, and a concentrated eye cream, which seems to gel well with my dry skin right now.

URBAN DECAY PRIMER POTION: Okay, little fib here--this isn't my first time trying out Urban Decay's primer potion.  But since most of my other primers were out, my husband also bought me this to tide me over.  Downside: This potion actually makes my eyeshadows crease more, so I'm not sure if I'll use it for long.

Of course he wore this silly hat in ULTA when he bought it, haha.

DR. JART BB CREAM: This was a gift from my mom from Sephora.  My current BB creams just aren't working for me (seems to dry my skin out), so this BB cream was a welcome surprise.  A bit on the pricey side, but I find that it works well with my dry, pale skin.

OCC LIP TAR IN HOOCHIE: My first lip tar!  I was jumping with joy when I was gifted this :)  Hoochie is a really vibrant, true purple that easily spreads across my lip (you only need a dot of this tar).  It also lasts through constant sips of pop, so it's long lasting too--though it can feel a touch dry after a few hours.  I'm totally addicted to the formula though; I'm eyeing their Femme lip tar for my next purchase.

SEPHORA GIFTS: If you shop at Sephora during your birthday, you get a free gift--in this case, a mini-Benefit kit featuring their mascara and their Watt's Up cream highlighter.  I'm already good to go with my Dolly Wink mascara, so I gave the Benefit mascara to my mom, but I kept the highlighter to myself.  Verdict thus far: Gives me a nice glow but can get greasy.

Of course, I will be reviewing all of these products in the future, but for right now I'll need some more time to test them out!
